Latin America is the part of the Americas where the Romance languages of Spanish and Portugese dominate. This includes South America, Central America, Mexico, and some Caribbean islands like Cuba, Dominican Republican and Puerto Rico. In its original usage, it also included regions where the French language predominates, but that is not part of its current usage.
